Excited to see where CRE goes. Sidestepping the bureaucratic mess of interconnection studies, certificates of need, and related processes will reduce the time from inception to operation. Additionally, the unregulated competition might have secondary effects that cause utilities to improve their own processes and make the grid better for everyone.

Great Ideas here! The core issue seems to be that load growth is accelerating on timelines DOE processes were never designed for. The system is optimized for deliberation, not speed. But with industrial and AI-driven demand rising fast, ‘speed to power’ isn’t a "nice to have", it’s the defining reliability constraint.
